About the Author
Michael G. Aamodt (M.A., Ph.D., University of Arkansas) is a Professor Emeritus of industrial/organizational psychology at Radford University in Radford, Virginia. Currently a principal consultant at DCI Consulting Group, he continues to teach a course each semester to fulfill his love of teaching. An award-winning teacher, Mike has taught courses in employee selection, job analysis, compensation, employee training and development, organizational psychology, organizational influence, organizational politics, and forensic psychology. He has published over 50 articles in professional journals and presented many papers at professional conferences. His fast-paced and humorous presentation style makes him a frequently requested speaker. He is the author of APPLIED INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (7th Edition), RESEARCH IN LAW ENFORCEMENT SELECTION, I/O PSYCHOLOGY IN ACTION, UNDERSTANDING STATISTICS IN I/O PSYCHOLOGY, and HUMAN RELATIONS IN BUSINESS. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Police and Criminal Psychology, Applied H.R.M. Research, and Criminal Justice and Behavior, and is an active member in such organizations as SIOP, SHRM, IPAC, and the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology. As a trainer and consultant, Mike has helped many organizations deal with such issues as employee selection, performance evaluation, downsizing, organizational change, compensation, and motivation. He is considered one of the nation's experts in police psychology.

UNBELIEVABLY BORING.

This text was required for an Industrial/Organizational Psychology course. It has to be one of the worst academic texts I have EVER used. It is painfully boring, not super readable and every chapter is literally nothing but 40 pages of non-stop text. No visually stimulating pictures, NADA. To make matters worse, this was for an online class so it was really the only tool I had for discussion posts and exams. If you are a professor, PLEASE do not assign this book. Your students will thank you for it.

I hope you don't get stuck reading this book. This book was required for the class that I was taking. It was a total snoozer. The book was very bland and super boring. There was nothing to stimulate the eye or the brain. I'd rather read the side of the tampon box over and over than this book.

DO NOT RENT

I rented two textbooks from Warehouse Books, please save yourself the aggravation DO NOT RENT OR PURCHASE. The books came in an okay condition, I barely used either of them. They wanted to charge me over $173 for the damage of one book and $80 for the damage of another book, both of which I never caused damaged to. This company is fraudulent and disgusting, please save your time and rent from your schools. This is a headache and a half, and amazon will never have anymore of my rental textbooks due to this disgusting company. PLEASE STAY AWAY, DON'T GIVE THEM A CENT!!!!
