About the Author
Thomas E. Patterson is Bradlee Professor of Government and the Press in the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He was previously distinguished professor of political science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University. Raised in a small Minnesota town near the Iowa and South Dakota borders, he was educated at South Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota, where he received his Ph.D. in 1971. Currently running the "Vanishing Voter" study at the Kennedy School of Government, which has been widely used in the media and on college campuses, Tom is also the author of six books and dozens of articles, which focus primarily on the media and elections. His book, 'Out of Order'(1994), received national attention when President Clinton said every politician and journalist should be required to read it. An earlier book, 'The Mass Media Election'(1980), received a 'Choice' award as Outstanding Academic Book, 1980-81. Another of Patterson's books, 'The Unseeing Eye'(1976), was recently selected by the American Association for Public Opinion Research as one of the fifty most influential books of the past half century in the field of public opinion. His current research includes a study of White House communication and a study of the news media's role in Western democracies. His work has been funded by major grants from the National Science Foundation, the Markle Foundation, the Smith-Richardson Foundation, the Ford Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trusts.

No Registration Code to do Online HW

I rented the e-book version to save money buying the book and the e-book kindle is nice and all there. However, I need a registration code that is required to sign in with McGraw-Hill Connect, so that I could do my online homework for my political science class. The rental didn't come with this registration code which looks something like this: GRFU-BYHA-6MYJ-FGMK-F9XA. It's unfortunate to have to pay so much to get my HW done :(

No Brag--Just "Fact"

If you're looking for The Dirt on Noel Gallagher, you won't find it in this book. Although there are several historical errors, the book APPEARS to be a well-researched and meticulous work dealing with Noel's body of work and his genuine genius, but there is very little of the wit and humor that makes The Chief the droll curmudgeon everyone knows and loves, aside from a few previously-published quotes. This feels like an authorized biography because it is quite dry, sterile, and sanitized--no lurid accounts of Noel's rock-n-roll hell-raising here, no sir. It's not a fun read-- I suppose we will have to wait for The Maestro's own autobiography for that.

Enjoyable read, unforgivable errors

Book was enjoyable and worth a read as it won't take you too long. There are some funny and interesting stories in there. No excuse however for the blatantly wrong facts on song releases or song titles or dates that every Noel or oasis fan would know, never mind an author who has supposedly researched this man thoroughly.

Cons:
Not as funny or as heart breaking as you would expect a book about Noel Gallagher to be.
